Carolyn C. Dowdy has more than 30 years of varied experience in the banking industry. As part of Senior Management, Dowdy's broad scope of experiences include deposit and loan operations, compliance, information technology, human resources, and training. Remote Deposit Capture and IT Compliance are the focus of her consulting initiatives and successful projects which have been tried and tested during IT exams.
Experiences she will always cherish include the privilege of working with the original management teams of two very successful de novo banks located in Georgia. These practical, hands-on experiences proved invaluable in her career and professional life. In 2005, she founded Bank Project Solutions, a consulting, training, and product development company. In 2010, her company launched RemoteDepositStore.com an e-commerce store.
During her career she has served as President and a Director of AIB (the Carpetland Chapter), served as a Director for several civic and school organizations in her community, and was a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters Organization of America. In 1980, she was selected as one of 2000 Outstanding Young Women of America in recognition of her ability, accomplishments, and service to the community.
She attended Tusculum College in Knoxville, Tennessee, graduated from The Graduate School of Savings Institution Management from the University of Texas in Austin, attended the Owen Graduate School of Management successfully completing Training the Trainer at Vanderbilt University, and has attended numerous compliance-related schools and educational programs.
Dowdy has taught-presented seminars and had speaking engagements for bank related organizations and the private sector. Her company provides ongoing training to the financial industry through different organizations and companies including: Community Bankers Association of Georgia, Massachusetts Bankers Association, technology companies and users' groups.
As a self-published author committed to providing information to financial institutions, Dowdy published Remote Deposit Capture Task Lists & Quick Reference Guide. As Remote Deposit Capture is implemented in small financial organizations, the guide serves as a roadmap to implement solid internal controls while providing the basic infrastructure for institutions to aggressively pursue Remote Deposit Capture while minimizing their risk.
Dowdy continues to contribute resources and time to developing programs to assist small financial institutions.
